Strong Coast, Strong Texas

In cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Railroad Commission, Texas General Land Office and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the America’s WETLAND Foundation and its partners have created Strong Coast, Strong Texas – an initiative to support greater stewardship of the Texas Coast.

The Texas coast serves as the foundation for a strong economy, generating jobs that extend well beyond the coastal zone and providing protection to millions of people in communities where the high cost of natural disasters has community, state, regional and national implications. A well-designed, strategic public awareness and engagement effort will support policy makers as they advance measures to provide for a strong and sustainable coast.

As developer of the America’s Energy Coast initiative, the America’s WETLAND Foundation has agreed to help coordinate the Texas campaign.  This is in keeping with our work as a convener of diverse coastal interests in balanced dialogue.

Texas: Star of America’s Energy Coast

America’s Energy Coast is an initiative of the America’s WETLAND Foundation. AEC is a diverse group of major businesses and industries national environmental and conservation organizations scientists and researchers and coastal interests from across the four energy-producing states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama – collectively known as America’s Energy Coast

The coalition’s mission is to provide a balanced forum to work together toward the development of comprehensive solutions to sustain this vital economic region and the environment on which it depends.
